More flexible solutions for transports for people in StockholmMore flexible solutions for transports for people in Stockholm
Regional development and growth in Stockholm creates new challenges for the public as well as the private transport systems. Especially in the rush hours there is a need for new alternatives and possible changes between alternatives.
The challenge from this is then:
How can transport systems for commuters be developed to allow flexibility and interchangeability between different forms of transport especially in rush hours?
Redistribution of Space
The aim of this prototype is to show an alternative distribution of road space in the inner city to make biking safer, lovable and more attractive to people who would otherwise not cycle. The blue lanes are going in the same direction but give enough space for both fast and slow cyclists. A barrier of vegetation and concrete lane dividers protects cyclists from cars on the road. The yellow cross marks a safe loading zone, which is not for parking.
